Zoey

I am Zoey Zhao, grew up living in both China and Japan. I stayed in academia studying and doing research in International Relations for a long time before joining the finance industry as an intelligence/compliance professional in New York. While I was in school, I had interests and passions in education as well. Therefore, I worked for Kumon Education Institute in Osaka for over two summers on their English Immersion Camps for kids ranging from 2nd to 6th grades. I also worked as a teaching assistant for various International Politics courses at my college such as Game Theory in International Strategy. In terms of language tutoring, I had experience working as a teaching assistant for academic English classes for Japanese college students for over two years and as a Mandarin TA at University of California San Diego for two years. Although most of my teaching experiences were for bigger groups of students, I believe that every student is different in terms of their learning style and ways to motivate them. It has always been rewarding to see positive development in each and every student I worked with.
