After pursuing a fascination with music and sound by studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Miami (and subsequently working at Dolby Laboratories), I discovered a broader curiosity about the brain and behavior, which led to a Ph.D. in Psychology and Cognitive Science at Indiana University. I studied the relationship between how the brain learns and the social settings for learning, publishing twelve articles in academic journals about the role of other people in how we learn. As a tutor, I have specialized in STEM, but I enjoy teaching subjects across the educational spectrum, and keeping up with both scientific advances and new fiction and films - and have taught Math, English, Science, Test-Prep for the SAT and ISEE, and overall academic coaching. I also love learning about history and languages, often via travel — I've been around the world a few times, and I've lived in 12 US states and 3 other countries. I bring all my experiences and interests to the educational process, helping students connect to their studies and motivate them to pursue their own abilities and passions.
