Alexandra K.
Hi! I’m Alexia — a proud native New Yorker and dedicated educator with a passion for making learning meaningful, engaging, and accessible for every student. I earned my Master’s in Education from Hunter College, along with certifications in Special Education for grades 1–12. As an elementary school teacher, I have taught reading to a wide variety of students with reading difficulties, from dyslexia to ADHD and have been trained in the Orton-based structured literacy SPIRE educational approach, as well as Reading A-Z. I have also been an elementary school science lead teacher. Over the years, I have taught elementary school, middle school and all the way up through high school science., though I have a particular love for elementary school teaching. I enjoy stepping into my students’ shoes to transform challenging concepts into fun, creative, and approachable learning experiences that build both confidence and curiosity!
