I am a New York City-based English Language Arts educator with 8+ years of full-time teaching experience across secondary school and higher education, currently working with twice-exceptional gifted students at The Quad Preparatory School in Manhattan. I hold an M.A. in English (Literature Studies & Theory, Northeastern Illinois University) and a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism & Film (Columbia College Chicago), and my classroom experience spans private school, urban charter, and university settings: including four years teaching IB Diploma Programme English at Lyceum Kennedy French American School, high school ELA and READ 180 Literacy Intervention at New Visions AIM Charter High School II, and College Reading, Writing, and Creative Writing as an Adjunct Professor at East-West University. In every setting I have worked one-on-one and in small groups alongside full classroom instruction; my approach is diagnostic and student-centered — I identify the specific gap, whether that is thesis construction, close reading, essay organization, or grammar, and build a targeted plan around each student's needs and learning profile. I am experienced with neurodiverse and twice-exceptional learners, ESL and multilingual students, IB Diploma candidates, and students preparing for the SAT and ACT, and I am highly experienced coaching college application essays from brainstorming through final draft.
