Hallie
Hallie Wannamaker has taught for over 30 years in PreK-4th grade classrooms. She holds certification in Elementary Education, Social Studies, ESL, Gifted/Talented, and the Orton Gillingham Method for teaching reading. She began her teaching career as a creative movement/dance teacher at Bank Street School, Columbia University PreK, the International School, and the Elma Lewis School of Fine Arts. She then became a full-time public school classroom teacher in NYC and Teaneck, NJ. Since retiring in 2020, she now tutors students who have challenges in decoding/encoding. She believes combining the multi-sensory, structured OG approach with movement and creativity best engages students encouraging them to enjoy learning and reach their full potential. She also believes engaging the parents in their child’s learning process is key to a student’s success.
