Emily K.

Emily is a teacher at Hollingworth Preschool at Columbia University and a current first-year student in the Teachers College MA in Applied Linguistics program. She holds a bachelor's degree Summa Cum Laude from Juniata College in both Early Childhood and Spanish Education. Prior to moving to New York, Emily taught PreK in Madrid, Spain at the American School of Madrid for two years and on a prestigious Fulbright Teaching Fellowship grant for one year. Emily also taught kindergarten in Pennsylvania during her undergraduate year and beyond. During her experiences in early childhood education, Emily also has tutored elementary literacy, mathematics, and Spanish. She enjoys creating personalized learning plans for students and helping them reach their full potential. When she is not in the classroom, she loves boxing and traveling. Some of her favorite places she has visited include Portugal and Mexico.
